Dillon Brooks, born January 22, 1996, is a Canadian professional basketball player currently with the Houston Rockets. He began his NBA career with the Memphis Grizzlies, where he made a striking debut by scoring 19 points in his first game, the highest for a Canadian-born player in an NBA debut. Brooks was a standout player at the University of Oregon, earning Pac-12 Player of the Year honors in 2017.

With the Grizzlies, Brooks continued to excel, earning a three-year, $35 million extension in 2020 after averaging 16.1 points per game. He made his NBA playoff debut in 2021, scoring 31 points against the Utah Jazz. Brooks’ time with the Grizzlies was marked by both achievements and controversies, including a suspension in 2022 for a flagrant foul.

In 2023, Brooks joined the Houston Rockets and was named the FIBA World Cup Best Defensive Player, helping Canada to a bronze medal. His career reflects both his scoring ability and defensive prowess, evidenced by his selection to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2023
